Cypriot President Anastasiades Repeats Negotiations Stance
Once again, Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has claimed that he won't be pressured to rejoin negotiations between the two territories of the nation by blackmail or threats.
The President repeated his stance during an official lunch he held for Archbishop of America Demetrios, who is currently on the island. He stated, "I am not willing to accept any pressure to return to a dialogue under threat or blackmail so that a solution which dictated by military power can be imposed", according to Parikiaki.
During his address, Anastasiades also discussed his happiness at Cyprus' economic improvements, concerning recent upgraded global rating scores by Standard and Poor's and Fitch Ratings, along with positive Troika assessments.
The President declared his efforts in transforming Cyprus into a modern EU nation that holds prosperity and peace. Regarding the island's natural resources, he stated that they belong to the country and their benefits will assist Cyprus' legal dwellers. Anastasiades thanked the Archbishop of America for his constant and consistent support of Cyprus and its citizens.
