Greece, U.S., Cyprus & Israel Conduct Search & Rescue Mission

The multinational search and rescue (SAR) mission "NEMESIS 2015", conducted its initial exercise today, with Greece, Cyprus, the U.S. and Israel.

According to a Cypriot official announcement, a table-top exercise was launched concerning counter terrorists threats against oil rigs and vessels, search and rescue operations, and Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) water pollution, as reported by Parikiaki.

The exercise was made up of 45 officers and executives, while the Joint Rescue Coordination Center (JRCC) Larnaca organized the events, which was also attended by 20 more Republic of Cyprus Ministries.

The next "NEMESIS 2015" practice is scheduled for July 1st, that will facilitate naval and air instruments. The exercise's results will be studied to enhance collaborations between Greece, Cyprus, the U.S. and Israel.
