Onassis Foundation: Announcement of Scholarships for 2026-27

Since 1978, the Onassis Foundation has supported 8,000 scientists and researchers through its Fellowship Program, contributing to impressive numbers. Onassis Foundation Fellows have opened 8,000 doors to the world’s leading universities, spent approximately 20,200,000 hours of study and doctoral research, developed more than 5,000 collaborations with academics, traveled approximately 133,444 kilometers for study, and presented more than 4,450 innovative ideas through papers and dissertations.
Now it’s the turn of the next generation of Fellows to make these numbers even greater.

With an emphasis on the sciences of the future, the Onassis Foundation welcomes young people every year who work systematically for a better society. With an eye on the future, the Onassis Foundation invests in the sciences we know and those we will learn. From nanotechnology and bioinformatics to computational linguistics and data analytics, the Fellowship Program promotes knowledge, development and innovation. By supporting the work of the young fellows, it not only shapes their lives, but also positively influences society at large, responding with solutions to global challenges. After completing their studies, the Onassis Foundation continues to support the journey of the fellows, strengthening and empowering their professional development and networking through their active community, which numbers over 2,700 members, creating new bridges for the future.
Information on how to apply
The application process for the academic year 2026-27 has begun.
Candidates are kindly requested to carefully study the text of the Scholarship Announcement which describes the terms and conditions of the scholarship, the specializations and the levels of study. Applications and the required supporting documents are submitted exclusively electronically. Candidates who wish to apply must create a personal account on the Onassis Directory via the link below and successfully pass the initial application stage, so that they can complete the application and upload the required supporting documents gradually until the deadline for submitting applications and supporting documents. The electronic application can only be successfully submitted if it is accompanied by the corresponding required supporting documents.
