SYRIZA Leader Tsipras Declares Greek Change, Bologna
SYRIZA leader Alexis Tsipras announced yesterday in Bologna, Italy, that Greece will express a concrete message of change during Sunday's elections.
The SYRIZA head is on a trip to the nation, showing his support of the radical left's Italian ballot ticket, "The Other Europe with Tsipras". As reported by Italian media, approximately 12,000 citizens flocked to Bologna's Piazza Maggiore Square waving "L 'Altra Europa" (The Other Europe) red flags.
According to ANA-MPA, Tsipras declared in his speech: "To the clear dilemma of the ballot box: yes or no to austerity. To the clear wager of the elections: Which Europe? That of Democracy or that of Merkel? The only response that Ms. Merkel is afraid of, the only response that the neoliberal European incumbent is afraid of is the response of the European Left".
Additionally, the SYRIZA delegate urged voters to participate in the electoral process. Alexis Tsipras stated: "Because Europe is at a historical crossroad, we ask every citizen to vote and not stay at home on Sunday".
