President Anastasiades Addresses CyBC & Pancyprian Union of Refugees Seminar
Last night, Cypriot President Anastasiades addressed a CyBC and Pancyprian Union of Refugees seminar, being held to mark the Turkish invasion of the island 40 years ago.
As reported by Parikiaki, the President voiced his mission to reunify the nation, that has remained under division since 1974. He promised to find a solution that will reunify Cyprus and all elements that go along with it, including freedom, human rights and refugee issues.
Anastasiades voiced that the largest challenge remains distrust, by Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. He urged all to overcome preconceived notions and past traumatic events. The President asked the public to support the ongoing efforts for island reunification and promised to do all that he could to find a solution.
