Cyprus Concerns Over Turkey-EU Association Council
Cypriot Government Spokesman Nicos Christodoulides stated that the Republic of Cyprus will only authorize a Turkey-EU Association Council to assemble, if it is told beforehand of what Turkey's text contains, as reported by Parikiaki.
Today, the Government Spokesman's written statement referenced Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulides' written correspondence regarding the matter, to High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs & Security Policy Catherine Ashton.
The Southern territory believes that Turkey holds unacceptable attitudes, which should be addressed by responsible EU organizations, to be added to the Progress Report on Turkey this year. Christodoulides commented that the inappropriate stance by Turkey reveal's Ankara's true conation.
