ESEE Chief Korkidis Voices Concern Over EU Sanctions Against Russia
Greek commerce association ESEE chief Vassilis Korkidis stated his belief, that EU sanctions against Russia will unfavorably affect the nation's economy.
As reported by ANA-MPA, Korkidis claimed that Greece could possibly not be allowed to purchase anything that falls under the EU restrictions, however it could sell domestic seasonal items to Russian firms including fruits and vegetables that hold a brief production, transport and consumption period.
On Friday, Korkidis commented on the EU sanctions, "The effective intervention of our economic diplomacy for a political solution at the highest level is now essential so as to defuse the crisis in the Greek-Russian economic relations and prevent a Russian embargo on our country. Europe and Russia have sown the wind and Greece is called to reap the whirlwind".
