Hellenic doctors, prison employees and various state workers began striking today, against public sector layoffs, as reported by international media.

The General Confederation of Employees of Greece (GSEE) executive committee, who serves as the private sector trade union, has now supported the PPC worker's union GENOP, as reported by ANA-MPA.

Sunday at midnight, the PPC workers strike ceased after its employee union GENOP decided to halt it after a five-hour meeting.
