Greek Jazz Concert Held May 21st, NYC
Greek jazz greats Giorgos Kontrafouris along with his piano trio, will collaborate with gifted vocalist Terry Vakirtzoglou for their "Telling Stories" performance.
The event organized by the Onassis Cultural Center of New York, will be held on Wednesday, May 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City. Musician Kontrafouris will lead the concert, with Petros Klampanis playing the bass and George Kosteletos beating the drums.
The performance focuses on new arrangements by contemporary Hellenic composers and classical jazz. In their unique style, the Greek band will reinterpret and rediscover traditional lyrics. An open bar preceding the event will take place at 6:30.
