Amphipolis Offers Arial View
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
A helicopter borne camera belonging to broadcaster ENA Channel of Kavala has offered the world a magnificent view of the whole Kasta tumulus from the air.
The video clearly also shows the temporary roofing that cover's the entrance to the monument, offering protection from the weather for the antiquities, and better conditions for workers.
The excavation has become a focal point for international media, with the painstaking efforts to enter the tomb inching along while at the same time efforts to reinforce the stability of the 23 century old structure slowing things down further.
At this time, archeologists are awaiting with bated breath to learn whether the tomb has been looted, and who was actually interred there.
