Athens Municipality Immigrants Bureau Comes Under Judicial Scrutiny

An anonymous denunciation over wrongdoings in the Athens municipality's "Immigrant Center," has been sent by the general inspector of public administration to the prosecutor.
According to the denunciation the center has been transformed into "laundry" for providing immigrants with blue slips without the necessary legal documentation, allowing them to move freely throughout the EU for up to 3 years.
By bribing municipal officials the interested immigrant gets the necessary blue slip.
This new case is another headache for incumbent mayor Giorgos Kaminis, who is still trying to cope with the irregularities found in the birth registration bureau.
