Deputy health minister insults judiciary
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Deputy Health Minister Paul Polakis opened new fronts yesterday, as he now railed against judges.
Speaking at an event in Peristeri, Mr. Polakis lashed at the Judiciary, charging that it requires new blood, as many judges are addicted members of para-judiciary circuits. "There is a big issue with Justice. Young people should be in it, because a large proportion of judges is -to say politely dependent or -to say it openly- are part of the para-judicial circuit in the past or present, "he said.
At the same time Mr. Polakis, on the anniversary of the suicide of communist resiastance leader Aris Velouhiotis, whose portrait dominates Mr Polakis' office, asked for "Blackcaps" (Veloubiotis' personal guard known for tremendous loyalty, but also unmitigated and barbaric cruelty) to implement the governmental policy.
Mr. Polakis, moving along the line set out a few days ago SYRIZA MEP Dimitris Papadimoulis, rushed to offer his own verdict on the death of Panagiotis Mavrikos, saying that the government put handcuffs on reporters-blackmailers for the first time, and for one of them it was less than an accident, apparently.
As was expected Polakis has since become the targets of barbs from the opposition, for his remarks, espacially as concerns the sweeping generalizations against justices. What was not, expected by Mr Polakis was that the justice minister Paraskevopoulos also condemned Poalkis' remarks in parliament, after which the deputy heatlth minister was also left high and dry by the PM's office that adopted the line of Mr Paraskevopoulos.
