Thessaloniki water supply reinstated after seven days

The chairman and CEO of the Thessaloniki water board EYATH, Yiannis Krestenitis, expressed in his statement an apology from the company's management.

He also personally apologized for the suffering of citizens of Thessaloniki, who in the past days have been lacking a common good like water, despite, as he says, superhuman efforts by the company's crews to repair the damage and replenish the city.

As he said, he would also inform about the company's range of actions and what it plans to do to address the city's lack of water.

With regard to the water supply of the city, EYATH now informs that the quantities of water entering the city's network are absolutely satisfactory, since the average hourly water supply from Aravissos, Aliakmonas (Water Treatment Plant) and additional sources reaches 12,000 cubic meters, more than the usual 10,500 cubic meters / hour.

However, in the northern and elevated areas of Panorama and parts of Eptapyrgio there are partial problems of water supply (mainly due to overconsumption after a prolonged interruption), while in Sykies the planned interruption will continue until 1 am, which also includes the Upper City.
