Recently, there have been a spate of cases of drunk tourists vandalizing and destroying equipment in the hospital of Zakynthos.
Characteristic is the incident with a British tourist who tried to steal an ambulance! The man, in a state of drunkenness, caused material damage to the Emergency Ward, threatened health workers, and then attempted to steal an ambulance causing a lot of damage.
Eventually, the hospital workers and the only private security employee present, immobilized him with difficulty and then he was arrested by the police, but only after he had managed to hit a practising doctor, according to the imerazante website.
In another, similar incident, a tourist, also a Briton, was removed by the police from the hospital, drunk.
When the police left, he began to threaten doctors and workers, hit a wounded man, tried to vandalize, and hit his head on the floor! Eventually, the police arrested him.
