"Ithaca symbolizes the return, the end, the relief," the mayor of Ithaki, Dionysis Stanitsas, said in a statement to radio station Praktoreio 104.9 FM on Tuesday.

"I believe that the Greek people should be relieved and all of us will be able to overcome the problems of the last eight years and see better days," he underlined.
Tsipras will also have a meeting with the mayor, at the town hall. "We will meet in order to discuss some issues concerning our island," the mayor of Ithaca said.
