Greek FM Dendias: All those that respect the international law are welcome to participate in our common initiative

Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias late Sunday briefed his Cypriot counterpart Nikos Christodoulides on his visit and talks earlier on Sunday in Libya and Egypt.
Dendias who met with Christodoulides at the airport of Larnaca, Cyprus, stated after their meeting "We had the opportunity to discuss the preparations of the EastMed signing ceremony in Athens on January 2 and to exchange views on the ways we will meet our targets, always in the framework of the international Law".
The Greek Minister also clarified that any country that considers the international law its natural environment "is welcome to participate in our common initiatives".
Referring to the signing of the interstate agreements on EastMed, Dendias underlined that "it is not a reaction to anyone. It is an effort to improve the quality of life for the citizens of our countries and to support our economies and give solutions. EastMed is a major energy support to the European Union's energy balance".
Finally, on the designation of the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ), Dendias noted that a meeting of Greece and Egypt's technical teams will be held on January 8.
