Harsh letter by 51 party members of Thessaloniki to SYRIZA leadership
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Harsh criticism of the SYRIZA leadership is featured in a public letter, released by 51 party members from Thessaloniki.
In their letter, the 51 members of SYRIZA, some of whom are members of the Central Committee, others former candidates in municipal, national and European elections, speak of opaque procedures in the way the Central Reconstruction Committee and the Political Council of SYRIZA were formed while expressing serious objections to the way the party is led to the Congress.
At the same time, they are sending clear messages to the leadership saying that "we do not want a party of followers who identify with leadership groups, opposing differences of opinion, demonizing debate, reflection and self-criticism."
Of particular interest, however, is the fact that signatories do not belong to a particular trend. Most of them are people who are part of the trend of 53+, party members that do not belong to any specific group, but also more traditional SYRIZA cadres with significant action on local issues of Thessaloniki.
