Athens: Omonia square's makeover almost complete
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Omonia Square is being transformed and will soon be handed over to Athenians, who are eager to see its new form (above as it was before).
The works at Omonia Square are proceeding swiftly and mayor Kostas Bakoyannis gave a little taste of their evolution. By posting on Instagram, the Athens mayor is pleased that Omonia Square is in the final stretch. "I am very pleased that Omonia Square is in the final stretch and will be delivered to the residents of Athens. We're going to love her right from the start ..." the mayor of Athens wrote.
The photo (by Lifo), posted by Costas Bakoyannis, depicts the fountain in Omonia Square with colorful lamps, while the green lawn brings back memories of another era in Athens.
