Castellorizo holds 'Beyond Borders' Int'l Documentary Festival, August 23-30

The 5th "Beyond Borders" International Documentary Festival 2020 held at Castellorizo island in August 23-30, will showcase a total of 24 films in the documentary genre, 18 feature-length films and 6 short films.
Spanning a broad spectrum of subjects, the program features a selection of films highlighting historical, cross-cultural events, trends and personalities, as reflected in the prizes that will be awarded by the festival's jury: Best History Documentary, Best Sociopolitical Documentary, Best Short-Length Documentary (all kindly sponsored by the Hellenic Parliament), Best Greek Documentary (sponsored by Aristotle University of Thessaloniki) and the Special Award of Mediterranean Friendship (sponsored by the National Centre of Audiovisual Media & Communication/EKOME Media).
The festival is organized by the Hellenic History Foundation in collaboration with Ecrans des Mondes (Paris) and the Society for the Restoration of Megisti, Castellorizo (Sydney-Australia). It is held under the auspices of the General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad, the Municipality of Megisti, and the Athens embassies of Australia, the United States and Israel.
Besides the above-mentioned prize sponsors, main sponsors include the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Secretariat General of the Aegean & Island Policy and the Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation.
