Mitsotakis in New York; to meet Erdogan on Wednesday

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is expected to arrive in New York on Tuesday evening.
On Wednesday, he will meet with the Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, while on Thursday he will address the UN General Assembly.
PM Mitsotakis briefed on action to relieve flood-affected regions in online meeting
The prime minister was also briefed on Tuesday on the progress of work for the relief of flood-affected areas, in a teleconference with the Thessaly Operations Coordination Centre.
The government said that the inspections and recording of damage by state services is proceeding at a rapid pace, with more than 12,000 inspections so far, and that 16,000 finalised and 5,000 temporary applications for state assistance have been submitted to the online platform arogi.gov.gr.
The first payments of state aid were made the previous Friday, to help replace destroyed household effects and cover the basic needs of those affected, with 25.6 million euros paid to 4,470 individuals representing 4,377 households.
The prime minister was also briefed on efforts to collect and dispose of dead animal carcasses and other public health issues, as well as efforts to restore the water supply and repair roads.
