Thessaloniki: Romanian migrant smuggler arrested - He put two people in the trunk

A 22-year-old Romanian migrant smuggler was arrested yesterday in Thessaloniki, as part of the Hellenic Police's checks to identify individuals involved in the illegal transportation of foreigners.
Specifically, yesterday at noon, police officers from the Thessaloniki Aliens Directorate spotted, on the Thessaloniki - Kavala National Highway, a private vehicle driven by the 22-year-old, who did not comply with police signals and attempted to escape at high speed, but the vehicle was stopped near the Analipsi toll booth and the 22-year-old was arrested despite the strong resistance he put up.
What police seized in Thessaloniki
A search of the car then followed, during which three foreigners of Afghan origin were found, who lacked documents for their stay in Greek territory, with two of them in the luggage compartment.
The transport vehicle and the mobile phone used by the perpetrator for his communications were seized, as well as the sum of 70 euros.
The arrested person, with the case file drawn up against him by police officers of the Thermi Immigration Management Department, will be taken to the competent prosecutor.
