Georgiadis: Those who criticized Mitsotakis' foreign policy have been exposed, Greece is now the protagonist and Turkey the spectator
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
Adonis Georgiadis made a detailed statement on the foreign policy of the Kyriakos Mitsotakis government on Wednesday morning, emphasizing, among other things, that “all those who criticized the foreign policy of the Mitsotakis government have now been seriously exposed.”
As the Minister of Health notes, “Greece has become a regular geopolitical player in the largest chess game of global power realignment since 1990. We are in the game, in a very good position and we expect several long-term benefits for our homeland.”
“On the contrary, Turkey, whose foreign policy I have been tired of hearing various “patriots” praise all these years, is not only out of the game but is also seriously at risk of geopolitical collapse in the event of a regime change in Iran or, even worse for it, if Iran falls into chaos and the Kurds are armed by the West, who will sooner or later try to unite into a single State, threatening even the cohesion of Turkey.”
At the same time, Mr. Georgiadis defends the “calm waters” policy, writing that “it was not only a self-evident but also an extremely beneficial choice for Greece.”
“Greece is now the protagonist and Turkey the spectator. Do you know how many decades this has been going on? "Perhaps even before the Asia Minor disaster," notes Mr. Georgiadis, who in his post also makes a brief historical retrospective "on how we got here and to something that, in my eyes, constitutes our collective national success!"
