OAED Administers Web-Based Renewal Service
The official Manpower Employment Organization has administered a web-based unemployment card renewal service.
The new tool will be available June 2014 to 1,000,000 unemployed citizens registered with OAED, regardless if they are gaining unemployment benefits during the renewal period. Labour Minister Yiannis Vroutsis administered this act through a Parliamentary law amendment today.
The mandate orchestrates internal collaboration between OAED and the Labor Ministry's central information system, which documents wage employment activity. The Labor Ministry will now directly update OAED's unemployment index. After June, citizens will not have to go to OAED offices in person, to submit required paperwork.
The web unemployment card renewal system will significantly decrease 1,200 administrative employees' and 800 work consultants' work tasks. The OAED worker's job responsibilities will be reassigned, to actively assist unemployed citizens in their job search.
