Health Minister Denies Golden Dawn Affiliation
Today, Conservative Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis shot down claims of any involvement with Golden Dawn lawmaker Christos Pappas.
As reported by Kathimerini, the Health Minister stated, "I have certainly never spoken to him. What Golden Dawn tried to do yesterday was to sling mud on everyone, [and it did so] for obvious political reasons". Georgiadis is referring to Pappas who currently remains behind bars in Korydallos Prison, awaiting his upcoming trial.
Pappas is the extremely right-winged political party's second commander in chief. Yesterday brought a Parliamentary immunity lifting hearing on the Golden Dawn delegate, along with colleagues GD chief Nikos Michaloliakos and MP Yiannis Lagos. During Wednesday's court hearing, Pappas commented that Georgiadis claimed he would rather his son "to become a GD supporter rather than a SYRIZA supporter".
