Stavros Niarchos Foundation Offers $500,000 West Africa Ebola Grant
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has granted $500,000 in emergency relief funds to Doctors Without Borders, to assist in its West African Ebola outbreak mission.
The grant will support the international nonprofit organization's activities in the region, concerning rising disease outbreak concerns. Doctors Without Borders currently serves as West Africa's leading humanitarian aid organization regarding the Ebola uprising.
A portion of the funds will be allotted to Sudanese refugee camps in Ethiopia, which were severely threatened by recent torrential rains in the country's Gambella region.
Stavros Niarchos Foundation Co-President Andreas Dracopoulos stated of the act, "With this grant, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation is supporting the essential work of Doctors Without Borders in West Africa and joining the crucial fight to conquer the Ebola epidemic".
The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has been a pillar in providing emergency relief grants across the globe including Greece, New York, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and the Philippines.
