Skin Expert Judith Koritsas Recommends Top Sunblocks
Celadon Spa owner Judith Koritsas offers facials along with sun protection recommendations to her clients, during their visits to her chic Washington, D.C. facility.
Koritsas knows the longterm effects associated with sun baked skin, yet many of her warnings were left unheard, as reported by The Washington Post. The skin specialist's Greek husband believed his heritage granted him free reign in the sunshine. As the sun expert described, "He never dreamed something could happen. But it can happen to anyone".
Koritsas' Hellenic husband was diagnosed with melanoma five years ago, during a routine dermatology visit to extract skin tags. He had to receive immediate surgery to remove underarm lymph nodes. Thankfully, the previous Greek sun enthusiast has recovered, and now routinely sees a dermatologist twice per year.
Her husband's battle with melanoma shook up Koritsas, who repeatedly reminds her clients about the hazardous affects of excessive sun exposure. The month of May is termed "Skin Awareness Month", and Kortisas has recommended her top sunscreens to The Washington Post.
