- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
The 125 students and teachers of the Greek Afternoon School of the St. Thomas community in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, on the afternoon of Friday, January 31, 2025, organized at the Diane Kousoulis Cultural Center, the established celebration of the Three Hierarchs and Greek Letters and sent optimistic messages for the future of the Greek language and traditions.
The celebration took place a few days after the celebration of Letters of the communities of the Delaware Valley of the Diocese of New Jersey, in which 5th and 6th grade students participated, who presented their own program.
The priestly head of the community, Archimandrite Augustine Psomas, led the prayer and focused his attention on the role of the Three Hierarchs and their teachings and on the role of Greek Literature in cultivating the conscience of the younger generations of Greek Americans.
The speech of the director of the Greek afternoon school, Margarita Vrettou, touched the hearts of the students and parents who had filled the room.
Students of all grades presented their own programs and immediately afterwards the Parent-Teacher Association offered refreshments.
