Volunteer & Teach English On Crete!
An educational volunteer program that teaches promising and at-risk youth English has been set up on Crete, in addition to a recreational and craft program for handicapped youth and adults.
The two-week volunteer scheme is organized by Global Volunteers and is located in coastal and mountain valley settings on the picturesque Greek island. Participants can donate their services as a family, couple or individual.
As Maleviziou Mayor Kostas Mamoulakis described the program on its website, "Global Volunteers are priceless....It is not just the work they do within the community; it is also the broader impact they have on our children, teaching them that they too can become volunteers within our community!"
Prior teaching experience isn't required as classroom tools are provided. Each volunteer teacher works in unison with a professional.
