American Airlines connecting Greece with the USA with 3 flights daily
- Written by E.Tsiliopoulos
American Airlines returns to Greece this summer with up to 3 flights a day, connecting Athens with the United States of America. Starting June 5, the new summer flight from Athens to New York will begin aboard Boeing777-200 aircraft.
"We are excited to be back in Greece this summer, with customer safety as our top priority, as always," said Tom Lattig, Managing Director of EMEA Sales at American Airlines. "We know that there is a particularly high demand for travel between Greece and the United States. "Our customers are excited to again meet with their friends and family on both sides of the Atlantic, or with the prospect of enjoying their long-awaited holiday trip to History Greece, or even traveling to the beautiful Greek islands," he added.
The new Athens-New York flight is an important stop, as part of the Northeast Alliance between JetBlue and American. This partnership offers customers enhanced connectivity and access to Northeast's largest network.
Also, starting on June 5, American will restore the seasonal connection between Athens and Chicago, with Boeing 787-8 aircraft. Finally, from August 18, the company resumes summer flights from Athens to Philadelphia, with Boeing 787-8 aircraft.
Prepared for the flight
American is committed to offering its customers complete peace of mind during their journey. This commitment includes partnerships with leading health and safety institutions that support American's efforts by providing hygiene guidance and cleaning procedures.
Last year, American introduced a digital health passport, VeriFLY, which was developed by Daon authentication solutions so customers can easily verify COVID-19 testing and travel requirements, simplifying check-in process. Customers can download the app for free from either the iOS App Store or the Google Play Store.
VeriFLY is the most widely adopted mobile health passport industry, serving American customers and its partners — AirLingus, Alaska Airlines British Airways, Iberia, Japan AirLines, and Qantas — flying to more than 60 countries in 280 destinations.
American aims to take care of people on their journey. Shares of American Airlines Group Inc. are traded on the Nasdaq under the AAL symbol and the company's share is included in the S & P500.
