AHI Hosts Greek Crisis Panel Discussion
Washington, D.C.'s American Hellenic Institute (AHI) hosted an expert panel discussion entitled, "The Greek Crisis: What is next for Greece and the Eurozone?"
Greek Ambassador to the United States Christos Panagopoulos offered opening statements, while Chimicles & Tikellis LLP Senior Partner Nicholas E. Chimicles served as the discussion's moderator. A range of elements concerning Greece's current status were examined.
Featured presenters included MIT Global Economics and Management Professor Dr. Athanasios Orphanides, Drexel University Finance Professor and Dean Emeritus Dr. George Tsetsekos, and IMF Debt and Capital Markets, Monetary and Capital Markets Department Deputy Division Chief Dr. Michael Papaioannou.
AHI President Nick Larigakis described the mission of the panel discussion, "Our aim today is to gain a better understanding of what the current state of negotiations between Greece and her creditors is; what the true drop-dead deadlines for Greece are; and just what the implications of the next moves are to Greece, the Eurozone, and to global financial markets, especially if deadlines are not met."
