Chelsea Clinton Announces Pregnancy
Former first daughter Chelsea Clinton announced her pregnancy today, with her mother by her side.
The 34-year-old daughter of former Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and former President Bill Clinton, revealed her news at a Clinton Foundation women's event in New York's Lower East Side.
The younger Clinton commented on behalf of herself and her husband Marc Mezvinsky, that the couple is "very excited" to become parents. Hillary Clinton declared that she is "really excited" to become a grandmother. The former first lady commented on the news of her first grandchild, and its deep relevance on her empowerment work concerning future generations.
Recently, the mother-to-be was asked by Fast Company magazine if she would run for public office. Clinton responded, "The answer was just a visceral no...Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no".
The Manhattan resident described, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I support my elected representatives". Chelsea Clinton did add that if she was ever unhappy with state officials: "Maybe then I'd have to ask and answer the question for myself, and come to a different answer".
