Cypriot President Anastasiades Won’t Participate in Negotiations Questioning Jurisdiction
Cypriot President Nicos Anastasiades has stated his dedication to reaching a solution for the nation, however not until the EEZ violations of the Republic of Cyprus have been rectified.
The Minster of the Interior Socrates Hasikos read a speech by the President that discussed Turkey's real aims, regarding its ratification of illegal agreements with the Northern territory of Cyprus, as reported by Parikiaki.
The President of the Republic of Cyprus commented that his nation does not need to be reminded by Turkey that Turkish-Cypriots also have a stake in the island's natural gas reserves, as his nation was the initial acknowledger of this fact. He added that the only practical method for Turkish-Cypriots to prosper from the natural gas deposits is if a comprehensive solution is reached.
President Anastasiades declared that Turkey must deactivate the turmoil it has generated. The Cypriot President also discussed his gratefulness at the support his country has gained and asked for more substantial and appropriate backing by allies and friends of Cyprus. President Anastasiades restated his commitment to reach a solution and referenced it as a responsibility to the future generations of Cyprus.
