Sudan UN Peacekeepers' Base Attacked
A Southern Sudan United Nations peacekeepers' base was attacked yesterday, resulting in the deaths of at least forty-eight civilians.
Strongly armed militants raided the camp, as reported by an African U.N. spokesman.
Dozens more were injured as a result of the assault. Militants administered rocket-released grenades to rupture the compound. Later the criminals fired shots at the site, where peacekeepers had been protecting and housing almost 5,000 civilians.
Further details are not currently available. Today's investigation will continue, while more deaths are predicted to be confirmed, as reported by U.N. spokesperson Joseph Contreras.
