General Secretary Baltakos Resigns Regarding Golden Dawn Affiliation
Due to a video release revealing governmental general secretary Takis Baltakos in deep discussion with Golden Dawn spokesman and law maker Ilias Kasidiaris, the close aid to Prime Minister Antonis Samaras resigned today.
The segment was released in Parliament by the Golden Dawn authority, when discussing his parliamentary immunity concerning his arms and explosives possession charges.
In the documented dialogue, Baltakos purportedly declared that there wasn't any evidence to restrain the controversial political party, regarding rapper Pavlos Fyssas' September murder by a Golden Dawn representative. The video also displays the general secretary stating that Golden Dawn's political expulsion was created so New Democracy voters wouldn't switch their political ideology to Golden Dawn. According to reports, a fight also occurred in Parliament between a police officer, Golden Dawn officials and Baltakos' son on Wednesday.
