Huffington Serves as Holy Trinity Spring Luncheon's Guest Speaker

  • Written by

Manhattan's Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity "Philoptochos Society" is holding its Annual Spring Luncheon on Friday, May 2nd, 2014.

Under The Auspices of His Eminence Archbishop Demetrios, the Luncheon's guest speaker is Arianna Huffington, who will present her recent publication, Thrive. Huffington is the president, chair and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group, an acclaimed author, and a national syndicated columnist. The Pulitzer Prize winning Greek moved from Athens to England when she was 16. She is a Cambridge University graduate and holds an M.A. in economics.

Of Huffington's fourteen books, two center on Hellenism. Published in 1981, The Women Behind the Legend is a biography on musical great Maria Callas. It quickly became an international bestseller. The Gods of Greece commends the power of myths as leaders to forgotten dimensions, of our inner selves and life.

The Annual Spring Luncheon will be held at The Loeb Central Park Boat House, located at East 72nd Street and Fifth Avenue in New York City. The event will benefit the Cathedral's Philoptochos Scholarship Fund. Boutique shopping and cocktails begin at 11:00 a.m., with lunch following at 12:30 p.m. During the program, Arianna Huffington will discuss her newest book's theme, concerning third metric recommendations on redefining success and creating a life of well-being, wisdom and wonder.
