FIFA threatens Greek football with suspension by sending new ultimatum

The Greek government has taken the decision to call off the Greek Cup following the riots that took place in the game between PAOK and Olympiakos, however if this decision is not overturned the "Grexit" is on the cards.

FIFA warns the Greek government via an ultimatum that they have to ignore the Council of State and they must restart the Greek Cup before the 15th of April, otherwise the Greek football will be banned.

The Council of State was due to hold a trial over the Greek Cup today, however the hearing was called off for the 19th of April.

Also FIFA demands that the Greek government has to revise the sporting laws which have been imposed since 1999 and, according to FIFA, they interfere in football.

If a suspension occurs, the Greek FA will not be accredited any more while the Greek clubs will be suspended from the international and European competitions.
