A Long Island mini-market store clerk in Brentwood, Suffolk County, was held at gunpoint by a robber, but he did not lose his cool. He took out his machete and he chased the robber with acute accuracy! For the store clerk, who played a game of "heads or tails" with his life at stake, the reasoning behind this was justice.
As it was seen in the surveillance video, the robber entered the store wearing a "hoodie" and threatened to kill the clerk if he didn't hand him all the money he had access to in the store. From the beginning of the incident, the store clerk seems to be calm and cool, but no one foresaw that he would suddenly pull out a machete and chase the perpetrator, who turned from the hunter to the prey!
The police found the calm disposition of the store clerk quite impressive, especially considering that if the robber was more unhesitating, he could have pulled the trigger to shoot him dead (although a missed shot was fired prior to the clerk pulling out his machete).
As it was made public, the incident really occurred on September 25th, and not August of 2011, as the video recorder displayed in error. The police department was notified at a later time.
