German investors choose Greece

Greece as a key country in the production of renewable energy sources (RES), the prospect of direct German investments, but also the production of green hydrogen and batteries, new technologies and recycling system, were some of the issues on which the minister of Development and Investments, Adonis Georgiadis, focused on during his three-day visit to the German capital, where, among other things, he participated in the Economic Conference of the FAZ newspaper along with German Finance minister Christian Lindner and his other European counterparts.

FT includes the Greek economy in an article on Monday entitled “The seven economic wonders of a worried world”, noting that “In periods of gloom like this one, when commentators see nothing but faults in most countries, it is worth highlighting the few that defy the prevailing pessimism. Here are seven that stand out in a world tipping towards recession and higher inflation: Vietnam, Indonesia, India, Greece, Portugal, Saudi Arabia and Japan.”

Foreign Direct Investments: A record in 2021 for Greece with 5 billion euros

“The foundations we have laid for three years are strong and unwavering, despite the ever-changing environment. In Greece, we observe a continuous flow of investments, which fills us with optimism and determination to continue dynamically in the future” said the secretary general for International Economic Relations and Outreach (DOSE) and president of Enterprise Greece, Ioannis Smyrlis, during his speech at the conference of the Economist on the topic: “SUSTAINABLE FINANCE IN UNCERTAIN TIMES: Solid foundations in volatile economies”.

Dep. Ag. Min. lauds the example of the fishermen of Amorgos

The reduction of fish stocks and pollution in marine ecosystems are among the most important problems we face, so the "Amorgora" initiative must be implemented in all the islands of the country, stressed the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Mr. Simos Kedikoglou, inaugurating the Xylokeratidi Fishery Refuge of Katapolon, on the island of Amorgos.

Greek-American Community Honors Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis

Leadership of the national Greek-American community paid tribute to the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis and his wife Mareva Grabowski Mitsotaki at a luncheon at the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park on September 21. Mitsotakis was in New York for the annual meeting of the United Nations General Assembly.

George Marcus, philanthropist and Chairman of Marcus & Millichap, flew in from Palo Alto, CA to introduce the Prime Minster. Greek Orthodox Archbishop of America, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophorosdelivered opening remarks and the invocation as well as the benediction. Mike Manatos, Executive Director of the Washington Oxi Day Foundation, served as the Master of Ceremonies.
Other honored guests in attendance included: Foreign Minister of Cyprus Ioannis Kasoulides; American Jewish Committee CEO David Harris, numerous Ambassadors and other diplomats from Greece and Cyprus, as well as many of the national Greek-American community’s most accomplished. Foreign Minister of Greece Nikos Dendias, who was scheduled to attend, was pulled away at the last moment to attend another important meeting on the sidelines of the UNGA.
