Fire department briefs press on active fire fronts throughout Greece

"The number of dead is at 49, and the injured are 172, according to the latest official report by the Fire Brigade.
Fire department spokesman Stavroula Malki briefed journalists on fire fronts that are active throughout the country. Ms. Malki said that due to the speed of the fire spread rapidly, so that the residents did not survive even though they were only a few meters from the sea while some others were trapped in their homes. As far as missing persons are concerned, the spokesperson invites relatives to call 199 and be inform on their people.
More specifically, 156 adults are on the wounded list, of which 11 are intubated, and 16 are children - without any of them being in danger.
