Rising museum visits

Visitors to the country's museums in January 2022 amounted to 51,166 people, free admission visitors to 39,122 people and receipts to 272,876 euros, according to ELSTAT data.

It should be noted that in January the country's museums operated normally, in contrast to the corresponding month of 2021, during which they did not operate in the implementation of measures to address the pandemic.

The archeological sites also functioned normally during the month in question, in contrast to the corresponding month of 2021, during which they did not function due to the pandemic. The number of visitors amounted to 71,396 people, free admission guests to 55,144 people and receipts to 521,364 euros.


In terms of the absolute number of visitors, the reins are held by the Acropolis Museum, followed by the National Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Ancient Olympia. While in the archeological sites, the Acropolis, Sounio and Delphi had the most visitors.

 

Greece: Letter of request for F-35 fighters

Greece is expected to send a Letter of Request to the US government immediately in order to start negotiations for the purchase by the Hellenic Air Force of a squadron of state-of-the-art 5th generation F-35 aircraft.
